In November 2020 a donation of $2,500 from Peabody's Wambo Open-Cut Mine, located in the Upper Hunter Valley, was gratefully accepted by Wildlife Aid Inc . This donation will contribute to vet bills and purchase special dietary food for each species, which can then be offered at a subsidised rate to our wonderful hard working carers.
Thank you Peabody's Wambo Mine!
We are very sad to hear of Bruce Mulligan’s passing after losing his battle of many years with illness.
Some of us first met Bruce and his daughter at a Wildlife Aid meeting at Bulga NPWS many many years ago where he attended his first meeting and became a member. This was to lead to many years of devotion for Bruce to the group. He loved wildlife and spent much time as a snake relocator, carer, rescuer and educator. He also served as President.
We remember Bruce as a wonderful advocate for wildlife and a man who loved his family.
Our sincere condolences to his family.
State-wide wildlife rescue and educations group, WIRES have recognised the dire effects the current drought and recent bush fires is having on native wildlife in the Upper Hunter and have recently provided financial assistance which will help pay for veterinary costs, animal rescue cages, electric heat pads, medical supplies, wildlife release enclosures, specialised food supplies and feeding equipment.
This funding greatly improves the ability of Wildlife Aid volunteer to rescue and care the unprecedented number of macropods, possums and wombats and native birds coming into our care.
Wildlife Aid volunteers have also been receiving food donations from ALDI which are being taken to fire damaged bushland to feed wildlife.
Thank you Club Singleton for sponsoring Wildlife Warrior incursions at King Street Public School Singleton 26 November 2019
One hundred pupils plus teachers loved the show and enjoyed hands on interaction with wildlife. They took home a Wildlife Warrior magnet. Thanks to King Street Primary for their hospitality and to Lee from Australian Wildlife Displays for her professional presentation.
Wildlife Aid are extremely grateful for the recent donation from MACH Energy Australia’s Mt Pleasant. This donation will support rescue and care of orphaned and injured local fauna of the Upper Hunter. It will pay vet bills and be used to purchase special dietary food for each species, which can then be offered at a subsidised rate to our wonderful hard working carers.
